In the old tradition of Asiago, “Schella Marz” is the name that indicates the arrival of the spring.
It takes place every year on 28th February, when children and young people go out in the evening and stroll along the streets in their villages with “bandoni” (tin cans and other junk metal tied together) to wake up the spring with their noise.
The evening ends on the square, where according to the tradition the “vecia”, a large doll symbolizing winter (literally the name means “the old woman), is burned.
