On the occasion of the anniversary of the first alliance treaty between the Veneti and Rome in 225 BC, the exhibition invites visitors on a journey through the past and present, highlighting the role of wool as a continuity element in the economic and social development of Veneto, from antiquity to today. The exhibition tells how this fiber has shaped communities, creating cultural and commercial connections from the pre-Roman period to the industrial revolution. Through archaeological finds, archival documents, artifacts, and interactive technologies, visitors can discover the wool cycle: from sheep farming to textile processing, up to the creation of essential products for daily life. A specialized but rich subject is made accessible and engaging through light boxes, tactile experiences, and an immersive setup. The journey is enhanced by conferences and educational workshops.
An unmissable opportunity to rediscover the “wool path” and its lasting impact on the economy and society.
The exhibition, a Major Event of the Veneto Region, promoted by the Municipality of Asiago, was realized by the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Padua with the contribution of numerous scholars and thanks to the valuable collaboration of private individuals, associations, cultural institutions, and entities affiliated to the Ministry of Culture.
