In the Gardens of the Carli Square you can see the majestic Fountain of the Faun, devoted to the mythological creature, which creates a magical atmosphere in the heart of Asiago.
Built in the public gardens in 1928, the fountain represents an octagonal, made of red local marble; along the sides there are four bronze sculptures representing four forest animals: a grouse, a fox, an eagle, and a squirrel.
At the centre of the fountain stands the main statue of a faun, the divinity of flocks and fields, with pointed ears, horns and goat feet, astride a deer. All the statutes are bronze pieces of art by M. Zanetti from Vicenza.
The gardens were recently renewed and brought to their original design: the taller trees were replaced with smaller ones, which provided the garden with more open space and gave a brighter and lighter atmosphere to this resort in Asiago.
