The “Campiello” is a literary award, established in 1962 by the Industrialists of Veneto, which is awarded for works of Italian fiction. Throughout its history, the Prize has proven the validity of its cultural choices by bringing numerous authors and novels that have marked the history of Italian literature to the attention of the general public. The Campiello has seen the success of the competing works confirmed both by sales and by the cinematic adaptations of some of them. Today, the Prize, considered one of the most prestigious in Italy and among the most important in the Italian publishing landscape, is a channel through which the Venetian Industrialists intend to offer their contribution to promoting Italian fiction and to incentivizing and spreading the pleasure of reading, with the awareness that a prize finds its ultimate reason for being in "creating new readers." The initial idea, which has never changed, of the mechanism designed to reach the winner has proven effective: the juries, one technical and one popular.
During the event, the 5 finalists for the award will be present:
- Marco Belpoliti"Nord nord" - Einaudi
- Wanda Marasco "Di spalle a questo mondo" - Neri Pozza
- Monica Pareschi"Inverness" - Polidoro
- Alberto Prunetti "Troncamacchioni" - Feltrinelli
- Fabio Stassi"Bebelplatz" - Sellerio
